The VUMPI office bills local churches and other employers directly for Clery Retirement Security Program and Comprehensive Protection Plan benefits. Details of the billing formula are below.

Clergy Retirement Security Program

The CRSP Contribution from the local churches and/or salary-paying-units for each appointed eligible clergy member under episcopal appointment at that location is as follows:

For the Defined Contribution component of CRSP: Plan Compensation(base salary plus housing allowance or parsonage rate), times 3%

For the Defined Benefit component of CRSP: Plan Compensation (base salary plus housing allowance or parsonage rate, up to 135% of the Denominational Average Compensation (DAC")) times 9%

Comprehensive Protection Plan (CPP)

The CPP contribution from the local churches and/or salary-paying-units for each appointed eligible clergy member under episcopal appointment at that location are as follows:

Plan Compensation (base salary plus housing allowance or parsonage factor, up to 200% of the Denominational Average Compensation) times 4.4%

If for any reason, CPP contributions are more than 30 days in arrears, participation in the CPP is suspended. If contributions are more than six consecutive months in arrears, participation in the CPP is terminated. For terminated participants, readmission into the CPP requires payment of seven months of contributions and submission of a medical statement of good health.
